Winter 2026 Beyond the Binary “Poetry Risos”

During our February Beyond the Binary session, students reimagined Valentine’s Day through self-love, respect, and compassion. Inspired by poets Ocean Vuong and Andrea Gibson, they engaged in close reading and wrote reflective poems about what they love—or are learning to love—about themselves. Through inquiry, they asked how their “love” began, who shaped it, and how it lives in the body. They shared their work aloud and transformed their poems into vibrant poetry risographs.
